The IBPS Clerk 2020 is scheduled for December 2020 and aspirants willing to recruit are ready to start with their preparation. The IBPS syllabus has been released with notification for both prelims and mains exam. IBPS Clerk 2020 Syllabus -

 The first step towards preparation is to catch the IBPS clerk syllabus. The syllabus is more or less the same as any other bank exam. IBPS Clerk Syllabus 2020 is divided into Prelims and Mains Examination. The standard of the course is of high school and graduation. All the questions in both prelims and mains exam will be objective type. With the help of IBPS Clerk Syllabus, students can plan their studies and focus on subjects which will require more time. It will also help to master the concepts of subjects.

The IBPS Clerk Examination is conducted in two stages:

  • Preliminary Exam, and
  • Mains Exam

 There will be negative marking for each wrong answer in both the preliminary and main examination, for which there is a penalty 0.25 of the marks prescribed for a particular question.

IBPS Clerk 2020 Syllabus (Preliminary Exam)-

The IBPS Clerk Prelims exam has three sections in the English Language, Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude. DI is the major and important subject in Quant whereas in Reasoning puzzle is considered as the most important subject. There is a need to clarify your concept on both the above-mentioned topics as they carry the most weightage in the exam. The reading comprehension in English section consists of 7-8 questions. IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam 2019 may have one or two sets of reading comprehension.

IBPS CLERK 2020 Preliminary Exam Pattern:

To appear in the Preliminary Examination, the candidates have to keep complete command on three sections: Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language. As per IBPS clerk exam pattern, the question paper will consist of 100 questions. The maximum marks allotted for the test is 100. The duration of the exam is 60 minutes.

IBPS Clerk 2020 Syllabus (Mains Exam)-

After approving the prelims exam, candidates are required to prepare for the main examination. More or less, the syllabus for IBPS Clerk Prelims and IBPS Clerk are the same, but some subjects are added to all sections with difficulty level. General awareness on the subject has to be added in the main examination. Students need to prepare banking awareness, static awareness and current affairs of last 6 months to cover GA part. Re-focus your attention on DI and puzzle and seating arrangement in the main examination. The level of the main examination is comparatively difficult.

Important Note - The marks obtained by the candidates in the main examination will be considered for short listing for the final merit list.


 The IBPS Clerk Syllabus 2020 Main Examination is divided into four sections:

  •  English Language
  •  General / Financial Awareness
